Hello Stranger
Welcome in
“The Arabs used to say,
When a stranger appears at your door,
feed him for three days
before asking who he is,
where he’s come from,
where he’s headed.
That way, he’ll have strength
enough to answer.
Or, by then you’ll be
such good friends
you don’t care.”

About Me
When I am not building community or sharing poems, I am the Associate Director of Stanford University’s Public Humanities Initiative, which helps faculty and students engage with audiences beyond the university.
I was previously the Assistant Director of Public Relations/Communications for Stanford’s School of Humanities and Sciences.
Over the years, I’ve written everything from obituaries to endless stacks of brochures championing the liberal arts. Now I’m working on telling the stories that have been lingering in the cabinets of my mind–and writing about new ideas too.
Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to connecting with you!
